JoraPh Consulting sign partnership agreement with Quintessence Systems
22 April 2009, Oxford, UK.
JoraPh Consulting Ltd, one of the UK's leading independent Oracle database and managed service providers has signed a partnership agreement with Quintessence Systems, a specialist in automated software migration.
Established in 1998, Quintessence has developed its unique in2j software migration technology to translate applications between computer languages, and can currently migrate Oracle Forms, Reports and PL/SQL applications into Java. Customers include independent software vendors, government departments, scientific research institutes and the US Air Force.
in2j is of particular value to organisations with older, unsupported versions of Forms and Reports, which need to modernise their applications. Upgrading to newer versions of Oracle software can be problematic and costly and users may not need the features that define later versions of Oracle Forms and Reports such as internet connectivity. Migration to Java with in2j is a way to ensure the continuity of legacy applications on a modern technological base, while unlocking the potential for their future development and enhancement using the latest Java development environments such as JDeveloper and Eclipse.
in2j can also be used to extract complex business logic from Forms applications and make it available as Enterprise Java for Oracle's SOA software architecture, and to construct ready-made business objects for deployment on Oracle's ADF technology platform.
Having met at a UK Oracle User Group meeting in mid-2008, Oliver Tickell, development director at Quintessence and JoraPh MD David Phizacklea realised that their products and services complemented each other and would be of mutual benefit to clients. Commenting on the relationship with JoraPh, Oliver Tickell said: "JoraPh are highly professional and technically proficient, which is essential, but on top of that they also maintain a personal link with their partners and customers, so we know the people we're dealing with and it's not just a faceless organisation. We are impressed by all aspects of their approach to business and look forward to an excellent working relationship."
Commenting on the agreement David Phizacklea, MD at JoraPh Consulting, said: "The partnership with Quintessence will provide JoraPh with even more skills to fulfil our clients' needs; where they either cannot justify the cost of moving to the next version of Oracle, or simply want to utilise the legacy system currently in use to extract the Forms and Reports they require."
